Before you
get started in your new venture, I really wish to part my journal to
you. Throughout my years of entrepreneurship, I have read hundreds
of business books, attended countless seminars, and assisted
hundreds of thousands of my graduates in starting up their own
businesses (in more than 18 countries). During my journey, I have
recorded all these experiences and know-how into a journal.
Now, I have
summarized the journal into a concise version.
Since then,
the journal has been a guide for me in starting up my own business
effectively and efficiently, regardless whether it’s an online
business, or a brick and mortar business, doing it full time or part
time.
As you
already know, starting up or running any business is always
associated with unpredictable mistakes. Mistakes cost money! The
question is:
“How many mistakes are made and how
bad are they?”
In business,
we cannot eliminate mistakes, but we can MINIMIZE them. Hence, I
constantly update and revise my journal to ensure less and less
mistakes are made in starting up and running a business profitably.
When lesser mistakes are made, more profits are reaped - that is
what entrepreneurship is all about.
I have
arranged my journal into a ten-step process. Regardless what kind
of business I am planning to venture, I would run through the
ten-step drill several times to ensure that I am FULLY AWARE of what
I want and where I am heading.
